Description
FRANCE, LATE 19TH CENTURY A French Le Roy marble gilt figural mantel clock. The clock sits on gilt bronze feet supporting a marble plinth and readed column case with gilt floral garland. The porcelain dial is decorated with a hand painted cherub and Arabic numerals. The clock is topped with a gilt spelter sculpture of a woman holding a dove by Ernest Justin Ferrand (1846-1932). The sculpture bears an impressed Paris foundry mark. 17 3/4" tall by 9 3/8" wide by 6 7/8" deep at feet.
Condition
Wear to finish, minute chips to case. Main string and strike are in working order. Missing bell and pendulum and the bell chimer is broken. Key is a suitable match. The clock should be cleaned and professionally set.
