Description
An Egyptian bright blue faience Book of the Dead shabti for a man named Min, New Kingdom, Ramesside Period, 19th Dynasty, c. 1295 - 1070 BC, mummiform with details added in black including a long tripartite wig, two hoes with a net bag across the back and a yoke with water pots, wearing a heart amulet on a cord lying over the broad collar. Four horizontal rows of text encircle the body and a single column of text is down the back, inscribed with an abbreviated variant version of chapter six of the Book of the Dead, the shabti formula, named for a man Min, H: 5 1/3 in (13.5cm). EX Howard Mathues Collection, Philadelphia, USA, acquired in the late 1950s - early 1960s in Cairo.
