Description
An Egyptian gilded limestone head of a ushabti, Late New Kingdom, c. 1200 - 1075 BC, with beautifully carved features and deeply recessed eyes which held an inlay in another substance. The piece retains some of the original gold sheet which covered the face, black pigment remains on the brows. A very attractive piece with much eye appeal. H: 1 3/5 in (4.1cm). Light mineral deposits and mounted on antique wood base. Ex collection of Joan Oestreich Kend, New York.
