Two (2) 18th Century geographical or travel engravings to include: (1) "The Kraals of the Hottentots” with "The Hottentots Manner of Attacking Wild Beats" Engraved for Drake's Voyages; measures approximately 17" in height by 21-3/16" in width with a sight image of approximately 7-1/4" in height by 10-3/8" in width; & (2) "Cafers or Hottentots (an offensive term for Aboriginal Peoples) a assembled for the admission of their youth to the state of Manhood at the Cape of Good Hope." circa 1730, from Millar's New Complete & Universal System of Geography; measures approximately 17" in height by 21-1/8" in width with a sight image measuring approximately 7-5/8" in height by 12-1/4" in width. Each matted with matching frames, under glass.Bernard Picart (French, 1673-1733) was an engraver known primarily for book-illustrations, including the Bible and Ovid.
