Details: Civil War Period Union soldier leather cartridge box.
Measures approx 6 1/2" by 8" by 2 1/2". Dark brown leather. Metal lined main compartments, second front pouch. Belt loops, metal buckles. Embossed front flap reading, "U.S." Unverified manufacture date. Worn maker's marks are visible, but not legible/identifiable. Only "U.S. Ordinance Dept." is discernible.
This lot is from the estate of a very well-known and well-respected lifetime Civil War collector in Upstate New York.
