Good group of 22 signatures and two letters, all executed by nineteenth- and twentieth-century Western missionaries, primarily British and American, in China. Includes: ROBERT MATEER (1853-1921), A.L.S. "R.M. Mateer", 4pp. 8vo., near Honolulu, Aug. 21, 1910, to a Dr. Speer, on the letterhead of the Japanese ship TENYO MARU, Mateer asks his recipient to read over and write a review of his memoir of his time in China; and FREDERICK HOWARD TAYLOR (1862-1946), T.L.S., 1pp. 8vo., Philadelphia, Nov. 7, 1935, to Catherine Scrimgeour, Taylor thanks his correspondent for her previous letter and a photograph of Mount Horeb.
