Western China; ca. 4th century BC. A fine pair in classic Ordos style, each depicting a snarling tiger and a bird. The outer rim of mounts are pierced in several places for attachment.

Condition
Good excavated condition with much gilding remaining, especially to tigers. Neatly repaired crack at narrow end of one plaque.
