EDWARD JOHNSON
(1816 - 1873) Confederate major general who served with distinction in the Valley campaign of 1862. Led Stonewall Jackson's old division at Gettysburg, the Wilderness, and Spotsylvania where he was captured while defending the "Bloody Angle". After release captured again at Nashville and imprisoned for the duration of the war. Carte de visite photograph, a chest, up portrait in uniform with his name printed at bottom. No back mark. Very good.
