Description Rare Civil War Maynard Carbine chambered in .50 Maynard with a single shot breech loading capacity and a 20" blued barrel. Manufactured by Massachusetts Arms Company between 1963-1965 with serial number 17241. Patinated case colored frame, hammer, lever, and trigger. Saddle ring and bar. Smooth wood stock with metal butt plate. Multi aperture rear sight and fixed front blade. The right side of the frame is stamped "MANUFACTURED BY MASS. ARMS CO CHICOPEE FALLS.". The left side of the frame is marked "EDWARD MAYNARD PATENTEE MAY 27 1851. DEC 6 1859.". Two cartouches on the left side of the stock. Antique ships directly to MOST buyers homes. Condition: Antique Good/Very Good with general scratches and finish wear from handling. Speckling and spots of metal oxidation throughout most metal parts. Most of the case coloring is in the grey with spots of the case coloring still left. The hammer has most of its case coloring still. Scratches, scuffs, and dings on the wood. Most of the finish on the butt plate has been lost or patinated. The bore is great being bright and really clean with strong rifling.
