Description
A Southern Mesopotamia stone bowl, 3rd Millennium BC, carved from dark grey steatite with flaring sides and a raided disk foot. This bowl was apparently extremely valuable as there are indications of ancient repair, the bowl having broken in half and bands were placed in three places, each defined by two drilled holes joined by a shallow channel. 4 7/8 in x 3 1/8 in (12.4 x 7.9 cm).
