Description
Unmarked British double-barreled percussion pistol with snap bayonet. .54 cal., 6 3/4" barrels, primarily a dull pewter gunmetal gray with light oxidation staining & overall very light pitting. There is a small spray of engraving between the nipples, with an inlaid silver band, the tang as well showing some light engraving. The back-action lock-plates & hammers are primarily a lightly oxidized plum brown patina with pewterundertones. The ramrod tailpipe is iron & the front extension & bow of the trigger-guard are lightly engraved but also oxidized. The English walnut stock rates very good. There is an oval monogram plate atop the wristwhich is engraved "PWP". The top snap bayonet features a full-length face flute & three-quarter-length back flutes, the blade is 4 1/2" & 5 5/8" overall length, it is lightly oxidized & shows a few spots of light pitting & one divot from the right side.
