Rifles and Rifle Practice, 276pp, C.M. Wilcox - US Army, D. Van Nostrand, 1859.
From the title page: Rifles and Rifle Practice as an Elementary Treatise Upon the Theory of Rifle Firing, Explaining the Causes of Inaccuracy of Fire, and the Manner of Correcting it. With Descriptions of the Infantry Rifles of Europe and the United States, Their Balls and Cartridges.
Features 6 folding plates and diagrams, text diagrams, pictorial green cloth cover. C.M. Wilcox was a Confederate general officer who served throughout the Civil War, including the Battles of Gaines Mills, Chancellorsville, Gettysburg, and many other engagements.
A very rare title.
Measures 7.75".

Condition

Condition - Spine is worn slightly at top edge and faded. The book is in good condition - nice, tight and clean. All of the folding plates are complete and in good condition. Some foxing of front matter, end papers and plates. Very light pencil notations in front matter. One page dog eared. One plate resting slightly past the edge.
