French Gilt Spelter Mantel Clock, 19th c., by Japy Freres, with two cherubs atop a drum clock, time and strike, flanked by two Sevres style porcelain plaques of cherubs, above a central porcelain plaque of doves and a nest, on a pierced arched base, with pendulum and key, H.- 14 1/2 in., W.- 13 1/2 in., D.- 6 in. Provenance: The Estate of Sidney J. Mazarat III, New Orleans, Louisiana.
Condition
Condition consistent with age and use. Wear to gilt along the edges and on the side of the right porcelain plaque. Wear to gilt intermittent throughout the back. A lovely example.
