Description
Woodblock Artist S. Goubie, born in 1842 in Paris and died in 1889 in the same city, animal, naturalist painter and landscaper. Goubie was a student of Jean - Léon Gérôme at the École des beaux-arts of Paris. As early as 1869, he exhibited at the Salon de Paris until his death in even until 1893. He quickly found success with his 'relay to the wood', which decided to move towards the animal painting. These paintings evoke countryside very lush and flowery landscapes, in which most often operate horses in freedom where mounted elegant horsemen or horsewomen of the aristocratic world or bourgeois. Nature is serene and ubiquitous.
