WORLD WAR II: A good First Day Cover issued by the Royal Air Force museum and commemorating International Air Day at Hartland Point, 7th August 1971, individually signed by five German Fighter Pilots of World War II comprising Erich Hartmann (352 victories, the most successful fighter ace in the history of aerial warfare), Gerhard Barkhorn (301 victories, the second most successful fighter ace in the history of aerial warfare), Gunther Rall (275 victories, the third most successful fighter ace in the history of aerial warfare), Wilhelm Batz (237 victories, the sixth most successful fighter ace in the history of aerial warfare) and Hermann Graf (212 victories, the first pilot in aviation history to claim 200 aerial victories). All have signed with their names alone in bold blue or black fountain pen inks to clear areas. Postmarked 7th August 1971. About EX
