Description
Ancient Near East, Islamic World, ca. 17th to 19th century CE. This lovely bronze plate presents a meticulously rendered scene featuring a seated court couple amidst a lush, verdant setting. The lady dons a floral garment; the gentleman wears flowing vestments of intricate diamond and leaf-vein patterns; both are surrounded by blades of grass and a leafy tree canopy. The female seems to be holding a deep bowl; perhaps they are enjoying a picnic. Size: 5" in diameter x .75" H (12.7 cm x 1.9 cm); 5.5" H (14 cm) on stand
