Description
Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 1st to 3rd century CE. A red ware bowl with a flanged rim, steep walls, and a flat base. The interior has a molded pattern of radiating lines in tondo that look like a dandelion gone to seed. Unlike some other examples of this type of decoration, this one is extremely clear and well-preserved. Roman workshops mass produced bowls of this style for use in Roman cooking and food serving. Size: 7.3" W x 2.05" H (18.5 cm x 5.2 cm)
