A George III inlaid mahogany stick barometer. The silver scale engraved 'Manteca, London N. 1780' (probably Dominic Manticha), reading from 28 to 31 inches of pressure, with vernier beside exposed mercury main tube, the trunk with brass urn finial and architectural broken pediment over chequered stringing to a turned cistern cover, 38.75, (98.5cm) high.
Condition
Minor tarnishing to silver scale. Trunk has been repolished. Cistern cover may be a replacement. No transit air lock for main tube.
