Description
A late Victorian silver pin dish, of heart-shaped form with crimped rim border, hallmarked Birmingham 1895, probably A & J Zimmerman Ltd (Arthur & John Zimmerman), maximum width measures 2 1/2 inches (6.2 cm). Together with a silver tea strainer modelled as a Quaich, the circular pierced body with cut-out twin handles, hallmarked Viner's Ltd (Emile Viner), Sheffield 1958. Gross weight 1.4 ozt (45.4 grams). Condition
In good overall condition, the lot displays general scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. The pin dish has some minor bumps and tarnishing between the crimped rim, maker's mark is quite worn but other hallmarks clear and legible. The base of the tea strainer has become slightly flat, hallmarks clear and legible.
