EUROPEAN VAN EYCK INSPIRED CERAMIC PLAQUE, gothic arch form with ornately painted polychrome surface on front, "HOSANNA" within a ribbon at base, designed after the Ghent Altarpiece painted by Hubert and Jan Van Eyck Blue, having two pierced holes at top for hanging. overlapping "AMF" or "AVF" and "VAN EYCK" on back along with typed note describing the Altarpiece and "PRESENTED BY / WINSLOW ANDERSON / TO HIS MOTHER / CHRISTMAS 1935". Likely 19th century. 7 1/2" x 14 1/4".

Provenance: Winslow Anderson estate sold to benefit the Huntington Museum of Art.
