ASIAN BRONZE DRAGON AND PHOENIX VASES, PAIR, each baluster form with widely flared rim, with phoenix / Fenghuang amid embossed and incised trees and foliage, applied dragon coiled around the neck, one of the pair with dragon holding a pearl; joined three-part construction. Possibly Meiji period. First half 20th century. 18" H, 7 7/8" D rims.
One virtually undamaged, with only minor irregularities and minimal losses, the other with minor losses to base, and repaired at seam between base and midsection, being slightly loose there.
