Janson"; Fabricator: The Segre Iron Works, Connecticut; 12 3/4" x 10" x 11"; Provenance: Private Collection, Pennsylvania; Note: Horst W. Janson was an art historian and is best known for his textbook History of Art, first published in 1962.
Condition
There were 15 pieces made and presented as awards for a New York Art Dealers Association. The bronze has never been patinated and because of this, the discolorations are due to the environment and oils in the hands, where it has been handled (naturally developing patina.) No breaks or repairs. In good condition.
