Description
The piece is carved to the upper naturally undulating surface as a beaked bat with one wing outstretched with gnarled branch of peaches. The flattened reverse is similarly carved. The details o the fur are delicately incised. The stone is of a grey-celadon tone with deep grey skin.
Condition: A few polished areas, including to the head and tail area, the head of the bat possibly recarved as a bird; cut mark visible to one wing; inherent irregularities to the stone, particularly to the raised side.
