(8vo) full green morocco, gilt-rule border, central monogram device (JHT) with gilt wreath surrounding on fronts, spines ruled and lettered in gilt, raised bands, full tri-color morocco doublures with an outer border in gilt-decorated brown morocco border with blue morocco oval center panel onlaid with a tan cross decorated in gilt, small on-laid flower blooms in purple, green moire silk endleaves, all edges gilt. Cloth slipcases. No. 3 of 26 copies of the Edition des Amis des Arts. Prepared and bound for John Hamilton Tyson.
An incomplete set, all but one work here complete in itself. Includes writings by Gautier, Zola, de Musset, Aicard, etc. The set's original owner, John Hamilton Tyson, was an important and controversial figure in early auto racing in America.
