c. 1876 13-Star Diminutive Centennial Silk Parade Flag
c. 1876, U.S. Centennial Celebration 13-Star Parade Flag, 1.25” x 0.75”, Woven Silk Construction, with its Original 3” Wooden Pole, Choice Near Mint.
This desirable and very small, fresh and clean 13-Star Parade Flag measures 1.25” x 0.75” and is on its original pole in excellent, virtual mint condition. Beautiful, vibrant color still remains in the threads of this Flag. Most of these types of parade flags were crafted from printed gauze, so this woven silk fabric flag is a rarity. The 13-Star design shows the U.S. Flag as it was originally designed, with stars denoting the original 13 colonies. These were produced most likely as part of the Centennial celebration in 1876.
