c. 1834, Graphic Presidential Broadside, titled "The Presidents of the United States", 25.25” x 19” (by sight), double matted and framed to 33.5” x 27”. Printed in a lovely medium green and black, published by “Humphrey Fields, 338 Bowery, New York.” It is illustrated with woodcut portraits of all the Presidents from George Washington to Andrew Jackson, along with brief biographies of each. A patriotic American Eagle with wings spread wide appears above, flanked by the Goddesses of “Liberty” and “Justice.” The final paragraph reads: “The foregoing Sketch of the Lives of the Presidents, with little variation, was copied from the New-York Mirror, a weekly publication of the highest merit, and one that ought to be in the hands of every American Reader.” Woodcuts of the Presidents are all sharp, crisp and clear.
