Description
This is an exceptional pair of beaded gauntlet gloves from the Lakota Sioux Native American Indians circa 1890. The set is constructed of Indian brain tanned buckskin with wonderful beadwork in the typical late 19th century Sioux colors and geometric patterns. These show good signs of age and minor wear with little to no bead loss. This type of beaded horseback riding gloves or "gauntlet" gloves were made during the end of the Indian Wars to the reservation period for special ceremonies, parades, and events. This truly is a terrific pair in excellent condition. Each measures 15"L x 6.5"W.
