German NSDAP SS Division Oberfuhrer named cigarette case. Measuring 4'' by 3.5'' and made with " Alpaca Silver " (as visibly marked on interior of obverse side of case) this named cigarette case bears the depiction of an elk in high detail and relief with Swastikas on each of the 4 corners of the front side of cigarette case. On the obverse side a detailed engraving reads "Herr SS Oberfuhrer Erick Gritzbach" (recipient of the case) above a symbol of the NSDAP German National Hunting Association with Swastika. Above engraving which reads " Fur Eirinnerung an die Jagol in der Schorfheide" above the final line of engraving which reads "Oberjagermeister Peter Menthe". Interesting history behind this piece the named recipient of the cigarette case (Erick Gritzbach) was the Oberfuhrer of the Luftwaffe in Germany directly under Goring, and Peter Menthe the indiidual gifting this item to Gritzback was the Chief Forest Master in the German National Hunting Association, this item and it's engravings commemorate the hunt in the Schorfheide (Goring's personal hunting preserve). This very special piece with a unique story and history is in good condition with no damage or signs of corrosion and completely intact hinges, this item also tests positively for silver content.
