This is an ABSOLUTLY stunning painting with a gorgeous antique plastered French frame. A MUSEUM QUALITY PAINTING, Sisley signed oil painting of a likely European landscape on canvas measuring 18 inches by 14 inches in an antique plaster frame. The frame is marked "A. Sisley and dated " in handwritten black script lower centre. The painting depicts poplar trees on a river's edge under an expansive sky. There is also a nicely rendered man sitting in a boat floating mid-river and a village in the background. Overall condition of the painting is excellent. As noted, there is a small amount of cracking on the left margin. The frame measures 23 inches by 19 inches and has significant damage on the bottom right corner and minor damage on the lower left corner.
