Moody, Minnie Hite. Towers with Ivy. New York: Julian Messner, Inc., 1937. First American Edition. 8" X 5 1/2". 314pp. Signed by Minnie Hite Moody to front free endpaper. Moderate wear to price-clipped dust jacket, with small open tears to corners, chipping to head and open tear to edge of spine, and chipping to rear panel's top edge. Toning, sunning, and mild soiling to jacket. Green textured cloth over boards, with spine lettered in silver. Mild edgwear to binding. Lean to spine. Green topstain. Foxing to edges of text block. Toning and foxing to endpapers. Binding is sound. Pages are clean and unmarked. Illustrated in section vignettes. A presentable first edition copy of one of the author's favorites of her novels. Minnie Hite Moody (1900-1993) was an American author of five novels and a journalist whose works appeared in The Atlanta Journal, The Washington Post, The New York Times, The Saturday Evening Post, Ladies' Home Journal, and Vogue, among other publications. Hite made Atlanta her home for many years, marrying an Atlantan coach before eventually returning home to Granville, Ohio where Denison University is located, the institution that inspired much of this, her third novel.
