Item Details
Description
17th century oil on canvas attributed at Jan de Baen(1633-1702..The 3/4 view showing the proud aristocrat in his finest clothes, with a proud expression. There is obvious attempted restoration to the fingers of one hand, and the entire painting has been relined.Restoration is assumed over 10% to 15% of the surface. One of the dealers attending the exhibit on Saturday said he was 90% sure that he saw this painting in an auction in Sotheby's in NYC in the 1970's, but this could not be verified.Apparently unsigned. This painting measures 36"x 42" in a frame 45" x 50".
