Rare first editions. The first work of the German chemical Paracelsian, divided into two parts, is a treatise detailing various chemical operations, based on the three principles of salt, sulfur and mercury: the fire, or the sun, and the rooms are from Glauber considered deities . The text opens with a figure of alchemy, a square inscribed in a circle bearing the inscription In Sun et Omnia Sale. The second work about the Philosopher's Stone. The works of Glauber appeared separately, but often they were combined in this form: Duveen describes an exemplary compound like ours. Johann Rudolf Glauber, a follower of Paracelsus, studied the preparation of mineral acids and salts, wood distillation, purification by crystallization. He was one of the founders of the modern chemical industry and was also a precursor chemical engineering: the observations on the movement of metals from their compounds, led him to formulate a first table of affinity. In his research he introduced a number of technical changes in laboratory equipment, especially furnaces and distillers: it was he who created the sodium sulfate hydrate, salt called admirable, still known as Glauber's salt. These two works have never appeared at international auctions in the last fifty years. The Lot is offered with a valid export licence.
