  • Condition
The covers (8" x 5.375") have brown leather spines, each with 5 slightly raised bands, 2 applied labels (set and volume title), brown leather outside corners, marbled boards, and marbled inside cover spreads. The spines are straight or slightly cocked. The attachments to the insides are secure, with no detached covers. There are a number of scuffs, but no prominent stains, and no tears. The insides are in very good condition. There is a personal ink name stamp to a blank front end page in each volume. This is the only extraneous element in the books. There are no other stamps, no attachments and no notations. The bindings are secure, with no loose or missing pages. The only tears are to outside edges - shallow chatter from pages having been cut open, and one dink to a number of outside edges in The Uncommercial Traveller volume. There are few stains, none of which are prominent. These are spot stains, ghosting from adjacent images, and occasional light sunned areas. All the illustrations and clean and unfaded, as is all text. The gilt top page edges are bright and clean. The accompanying photos are accurate reflections of the set conditions.
