Egypt, Late Dynastic Period, Dynasties 26 through 30, ca. 662 to 330 BCE. Tall, thin wooden Ptah Sokar Osiris figure, once standing on a wooden plynth. Such figures were placed in the tombs of the wealthier members of society and were thought to ask the god Osiris to make the deceased a more godly individual. Mounted on modern wooden base. Size: 12.5" H (31.8 cm)
