An Egyptian wood figure of Ptah-Sokar-Osiris
Third Intermediate Period, circa 1070-656 B.C.
Of typical mummiform, the surface coated in bitumen, shown standing on an integral plinth, with a false beard and tripartite wig, surmounted by rams horns that would have formed the base of a more elaborate crown, 44.5cm high

Giorgio Sangiorgi (1886-1965) Collection. Sangiorgi was a collector, dealer and connoisseur who had a gallery at Palazzo Borghese, Rome. He removed his collection to Switzerland in the 1930s.
