Description
1st-2nd items: Two (2) after Giovanni Battista Piranesi (Italy, 1720-1778) copper plate engravings titled "Dimostrazione in Grande di Alcune delle Parti del PrimÌordine del Serraglio delle Fiere fabbricato da Domiziano", Vol. IV. Plate LV, and "Dimostrazione in Grande delle Parti del Second Ordine del Teatro di Marcello", Vol. IV, Plate XXXVII. From the artist's "Roman Antiquities", originally published 1756. Housed in contemporary wooden black and gilt frames. Plates range in size from 15 3/4" H x 10" W to 16" H x 10" W. Frames - 25 1/2" H x 19 1/2" W. Probably 19th century. 3rd item: Richard Earlom (United Kingdom, 1743-1822) copper plate mezzotint and stipple engraving after Giovanni Battista Cipriani titled "No. 27" depicting three women and a child. From "A Collection of Fifty-One Prints", published by John and Josiah Boydell, London, 1787. Housed in a contemporary wooden gilt frame. Plate - 9 1/4" H x 12 3/4" W. Framed - 14" H x 17 3/8" W. Condition
1st-2nd items: Brown stains, largest 1 1/2", on Teatro di Marcello sheet. Not examined outside of frames. 3rd item: Water damage, across lower edge of sheet. Minute foxing spots, scattered on surface of sheet.
