Item Details
Description
An unusual design square body switch lamp. It has a brass spring clip that broke off of the top assembly. That clip is included. The body is light weight hand built tin. No pot or burner. The lenses have 1n 1877 patent on them. There are two clear and 2 (used to be) red lenses. I think the reds are old flashing. There is heavy wear to the red coating on the interior. It's unusual to get clear lenses on a switch lamp. There was not AAR to insist on standards in the 1800s. The door hinge is missing to the door flops around. Note the flat band fixed bail similar to lanterns from the 1860s.
