Description
Davenport (English(Staffordshire) 1794-1887), John & George Rogers (English(Staffordshire) 1784-1815), early 19th century. A group of three pieces of blue and white printed earthenware comprising two Davenport plates "View of the Imperial Park at Gehol" and "Bamboo and Peony " along with Rogers square serving dish entitled "Chinoiserie Ruins". Rogers marked with impressed "ROGERS". "10" and "Y" with approximate height 1.62", width 9.12", depth 9.12". Davenport "Chinoiserie Ruins" marked with impressed "DAVENPORT" with anchor. Approximate diameter 9.75". Other Davenport plate marked in blue underglaze "DAVENPORT STONE CHINA". Approximate diameter 9.5".Provenance: Property from the Private Collection of Mrs. Nancy Rutledge Pogue, Blufton, South Carolina (wife of Mr. William Pogue, who served as an heir to the H. & S. Pogue Company department store chain based in Cincinnati, Ohio).
