Albert-Ernest Carrier-Belleuse (French, 1824-1887), "Orpheus"-1863, patinated bronze, signed to base under figure's left "A. Carrier". Figural sculpture depicting Orpheus, Greek musician, prophet and poet best known for his charm and charisma; he is portrayed here in contemplation with lyre in hand. Overall approximately 19" x 24".
