A bronze table bell depicting Orpheus and the animals, Pieter III van den Gheyn, dated 1569Bronze, patiniert. Umseitig reliefierte Darstellung von Orpheus unter den Tieren. Unterer Rand in Relief bezeichnet "PETRVS GHEINEVS ME FECIT 1569". Henkel in Form einer weiblichen Figur, die lediglich mit einem Tuch bekleidet ist und zwei Blumensträuße in ihren Händen hält. Altersspuren. Maße 16,5 x 8,7 cm.Eine ähnliche Glocke mit Datierung "1571" befindet sich im Museum of Fine Arts Boston. Die Familie van den Gheyn gründete 1506 in Mechelen eine Bronzegießerei, die bis ins 20. Jhdt. aktiv war.Condition: IIKeywords: Vanden Gheyn,
