A naive portrait of a boy clothed in the courtly attire of Charles I (1600-1649), wearing a slashed red doublet with a white shirt and a wide collar trimmed in scalloped lace, with a pink rose symbolizing gratitude. In a polychromed red wood frame with a handmade wrought iron hook. Apparently unsigned. Remnant of red wax collector's seal on verso of stretcher, Framed approximately 30.5" x 23.5", sight approximately 22.75" x 16".
