Description
Alexander Wilson (American, 1766-1813), circa first half 19th century. A collection of four framed ornithological hand colored engravings from Alexander Wilson (American, 1766-1813) and Charles Lucien Bonaparte's (French, 1803-1857) "American Ornithology" (published initially in 1808), engraved by William Home Lizars (Scottish, 1788-1859); collection comprising "Mottled Owl"; "Red Owl": "Snow Owl"; and "White Tailed Hawk". All owl prints approximately 5" x 8.25". All owl prints framed approximately 15.5" x 11.5". White tailed hawk sight approximately 8.25" x 5". White tailed hawk framed approximately 10.5" x 14". Provenance: From the Estate of Liz Howell Bloodworth, Atlanta, Georgia.
