Description
A very scarce Berselli system repeating flintlock gun by Antonio Baccolini, dating: circa 1700, provenance: Bologna, dating: circa 1700, provenance: Bologna, Smooth, three-stage, 13 mm cal. barrel, first part is octagonal with frames and floral engravings at the base, after a small, sixteen-faced segment with rings it is round with moulded muzzle and front sight; lock with a flat lock-plated, engraved with flowers, brass pin provided with a lever on left side, that in just one movement (abt. 250 degrees) arms the cock, prime the pan, lowers the batterie and introduces the shot and powder in the powder chamber; tang signed 'Antonio Baccolini', above the pin a sight chiselled with foliage; briar root, full stock in two parts, part missing at the butt back. Brass mounts, partially grooved or engraved, openable butt-plate, with tanks for powder and shots. Wooden ramrod with iron mounts., length 126 cm.
