An important thega, dating: 18th Century, provenance: India Moghul, dating: 18th Century, provenance: India Moghul, Wide, curved, single-and false-edged blade with 'T'-shaped back in a fine damask, rectangular tang and blade's base finely engraved with floral motifs in gold on a dark background, followed by two cartouches on both sides with different inscriptions in Arabic, among them 'Abbas, Servant of the Ruler of the Realm' and 'Work of Assad Allah'. Nice hilt in Udaipur style with flat, disc-shaped pommel, completely decorated with fine vegetable and floral drawings in gold koftgari. Scabbard from the later period., length 80 cm.
