A RUSSIAN CAP OF A GRENADIER OFFICER OF THE LIFE-GUARDS OF PREOBRAZHENSKIY REGIMENT, PERIOD OF PETER I, CIRCA 1700-1730
the front plate of the black lacquered leather skull decorated with an oak leaf pattern embroidered with a gold thread, with inlaid chased and repousse officer`s cockade in the form of Imperial Double-Headed Eagle, the back featuring a gilt brass badge of the Imperial cipher of Peter I, the thick beaver tail rear visor lined with brown leather and supported by a metal wire frame stitched to the lining, the interior lined with original white quilted fabric, overall height: 19 cm (7 1/2 in.)
