Description
Pre-Columbian, Central America, Costa Rica, ca. 1000 to 1350 CE. An attractive, hand-built terracotta vessel with a globular lower section that narrows to a cylindrical neck that flares slightly to its rim, and twin loop handles joining rim to shoulders. The outer walls and interior of the neck are hand-painted with black, stylized geometric designs. A lovely example. Size: 5.75" W x 5.5" H (14.6 cm x 14 cm) Provenance: Ex-N. Poolos, Adeon Gallery, Chicago, IL, acquired prior to 1970.
