Description
Near East, Mesopotamian (Babylonian or Sumerian), ca. 2200 to 1550 BCE. A molded pottery relief plaque depicting a king/ruler seated upon a high throne, donning flowing robes and headdress, his body presented in composite profile, holding an orb in one hand. The imagery is remarkably similar to the Babylonian king depicted on the stele with the laws of the Hammurabi (ca. 1780 BCE). Size: 2.5" W x 3.5" H (6.4 cm x 8.9 cm)
