Published posthumously in 2012 with contributions by literary executor Max Allan Collins under the title Lady, Go Die! The original completed manuscript was the shortest at 80 pages, which Collins combined with a much shorter one to bring up the Spillane content (CBR.com, "Another Hard-Boiled Friday"). According to a personal essay he wrote for Litreactor.com, Collins was not given notes for the ending, and believes that the disappointing sales of the hardcover of I, the Jury led to Spillane setting it aside. Also, this manuscript introduced a romance between characters Mike Hammer and Velda, which Collins speculates was "too early" for Spillane to explore. From the estate of Mickey Spillane.
