Description
A late Victorian opal five-stone ring. Designed as an oval opal cabochon line, with openwork gallery. AF. Hallmarks for Birmingham, 1899. Ring size R. Weight 3.7gms.
Condition
  • Overall condition fair to good. Some surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear.

  • Large amounts of residue of adhesive can be seen to the reverse and sides of the setting, attention may be required.

  • Opals fairly well matched with white body colour, and fairly good play-of colour, showing a range of hues with some small flat patches.

  • Stones in good to fair condition with some abrasion and minor nibbles to the girdle and facet edges.
