Johnson Museum of Art, 2004, p. 20 Catalogue Note: Charles Frederick Eaton made a similar binding for Jane Byrd McCall Whitehead (1858-1955) and Ralph Radcliffe Whitehead (1854-1929), circa 1900. The strap hinges were in the shape of the Whiteheads emblem, the Italian fleur-de-lis. The Whiteheads filled Eaton's book with photographs from Arcady, Montecito, CA and Byrdcliffe, Woodstock, NY.

Strap hinged hardware with iron cut-outs. Photographs of exterior and interior views. Missing leather to spine. Tight age splits and cracks to wood. Some rubbing and surface scratches to hardware and some rust in areas. Shells intact. Photo album pages warped. Suede page to front and back discolored, losses to edges and part missing but retained. Some photographs with some spotting. Each adhered to paper sheets.
